Student-friendly Interface

Expert TA’s equation entry palette makes it very easy to enter symbolic answers. The palette prevents syntax errors, so you can focus on the physics rather than on whether your “x” should be small or large. The right side of the palette can be used as a calculator with smart buttons and auto-completion features.

Academic Integrity: Some Straight Talk

We’ll say it right up front. Expert TA makes it harder to simply find problems online.

That’s good for us and good for you as a student.

Why?

Because it doesn’t do any good to get A’s on your homework if you don’t do well on the tests. And because it’s in your best interest to learn the material. We know that, and think that you do too. We were students once so we get it. This isn’t your only class and there is only so much time in the day. That’s why we try to make learning physics easier and a less frustrating experience for you.

We figure if we provide you with the helpful hints and feedback you need, along with an easy-to-use interface, you won’t need to take shortcuts.

“With my students, I found that Expert TA was a way for them to help themselves, rather than seeing it as something that I assigned so they could receive a grade. Initially, I set it up so they would lose very little for clicking hint and feedback. I also gave them up to 10 different times to submit an answer. They are able to work through a problem on their own rather than being worried that asking for help would get them a zero.”
